The A-Z Answer Page
Absolutely. If there’s anything you’d like to change on your hosting plan, let me know and we can sort something out. Automatic backups are generally charged at £10 / month.
Yes, of course. If you’re currently subscribing to my automatic backup plan, you can take manual backups on-demand.
Each automatic backup stays on the system for 30 days. Automatic backups happen daily.
If you’re on the Professional tier plans, you’ll be on the CPanel platform with the following access available:
- FTP / SFTP
- Web GUI Login
If you’re on our Starter or Premium tier plans, you’ll be on our custom platform with the following access available:
- FTP / SFTP
- Web GUI Login
On your hosting area, you’ll be able to navigate your filesystem, set permissions, edit files, change your PHP version, access your databases, access PHPMyAdmin, block IPs, setup users, scan your website / hosting area for malware, manage & install apps, and much more.
Should you hit or exceed the your plan’s storage limit, I will request that you delete enough of your hosted filesystem, shrink databases, or compress directories to reduce your usage back to within your limits. You will have 30 days to do this starting from the date I notify you that you’ve reached / exceeded your limits.
Should you require more space for your hosted storage, I can increase your limit at additional cost of £5 per month, per 500MB requested.
If after 30 days, you are still hitting or exceeding your storage limit, you will be billed for your usage accordingly; you will be charged £8 for every additional 500MB you reach. For instance, if your limit is 1GB and you’re using 1.2GB of storage, then you will be billed an additional £8 – if your limit is 1GB and you’re using 3.7GB, then you will be billed an additional £48.
This will continue monthly until you either reduce your usage, or purchase a storage limit increase.
If you’ve had a website designed / built by Willis Wireless, you are eligible for maintenance provided that the website is being hosted on my servers / hosting platform. If you choose to have your website hosted elsewhere / with a different company, you are ineligible for maintenance.
Absolutely. If you’d like any changes to the maintenance schedule, or you’d like me to perform more frequent maintenance, then let me know and we can get something arranged.
I take a full backup before I do any maintenance work, so if the worst were to happen, I can restore your website back to how it was prior to the maintenance.
Website malware scans, updates to WordPress & plugins,
Willis Wireless website projects start off with an initial discussion between you and I. You can share your requirements, goals, and any ideas you have the for the website, and together we can get a plan together.
I then create a wireframe for you to look at, and we can agree if that meets your needs. It’s okay if you don’t know what you want, I’ve got a wealth of design knowledge behind me and I’m sure I can come up with a design you like.
Next, we discuss content – if you’re moving from an old website, I can collate the text/image content & use that for the new site. As standard I ask for you to provide the content for your website, however if you’re wanting to flesh out what you already have then I can do that.
Once that’s agreed, I begin creating your website in WordPress and provide you with milestones for when each part of the website will be complete.
If there’s any changes you’d like made, that’s absolutely fine – I’ll work those into the existing the project provided that the requested changes aren’t significantly different from the agreed spec.
Once the website is complete, it will be temporarily hosted on Willis Wireless servers for 10 days, allowing you to explore, test, and make sure you’re happy with the website.
If everything is signed off and you’re happy the work has been completed, you can either have your website hosted by Willis Wireless, or you’re welcome to have the website hosted elsewhere.
I bill hourly for website design – I’ll send an initial quote to you, including a breakdown of where the time will be spent.
You will be required to agree to the quote before any work begins.
The time provided in the quote is an estimation.
If the total time the project takes me is less than quoted, I’ll make sure this is adjusted on the invoice and you will not be billed for the entirety of the quoted hours.
If the agreed work takes me a little longer than expected, you will only be billed for what was originally quoted.
If you request any changes that deviate from the agreed spec, or add significant additional time to the project, an additional quote will be raised for the change request / additional work, which you will need to agree to before I begin actioning the work outlined in the additional quote.
Once the work is complete, you will be sent an invoice and will have 30 days to pay. The due date will be at the top of the invoice. If you are planning to have your new website hosted elsewhere, you will be required to pay the invoice before I release the website for hosting elsewhere.
Should you fail to pay the invoice by the due date, Willis Wireless reserves the right to cancel the agreement without notice. All design, building, and support work carried out will be permanently deleted from my hosting platform, and no refund will be payable. Any domains or email accounts that may have been registered will also be cancelled with no refund payable.
Providing the plugin is free from malicious code, and was obtained within the law, I can upload and integrate your requested plugin with your website.
Yes, of course.
Once we’ve discussed your requirements and a quote has been agreed, I’ll take a backup of your website and restore it to my hosting area, so that any work I do doesn’t interfere with your current website.
Once the changes have been made, you’ll be given access to my copy of your website.
Providing that you’re happy with the changes, I can backup my copy of your website & restore it to your hosting area, so the changes now reflect on your live website.
